Jmol molecular models for general chemistry

The following are interactive chemistry lessons that use the open source molecular structure viewer Jmol: an open-source Java viewer for chemical structures in 3D to introduce and illustrate fundamental principles of general and organic chemistry structure. These tutorials were created by Scott Ensign and Justin Fairbourn at Utah State University.

The first set of pages contain interactive lessons that follow the general order for introducing atomic and molecular structure found in general chemistry textbooks. The second set of of pages contain pages with check boxers/radio buttons highlighting various features of specific molecules. Use these lessons and models to aid in your comprehension of principles of chemical bonding and molecular structure as we cover those principles in class.
